Emergency Response

Folsom Water Feed Pump System - Bureau of Reclamation/Folsom Dam

Project Description

Deliver a temporary floating 30 cfs pumping system over Folsom Dam to maintain the City of Folsom drinking water supply during drought conditions.

Challenges

Build a pump system capable of delivering 30cfs through a range of rising and falling lake elevations. Water operations and the setting of pumps and pipeline on the lake from the top of the dam.

how we solved it

MPS designed and fabricated a floating high head submersible pump system to convey water over dam and tie into an existing pipeline. This design allowed for operation and control of flow on the dam while lake levels varied.
